Last night was one of my favorite nights of the year. I was delighted to attend the annual Scottish Association of Luxembourg St Andrew’s Day celebration held at the British Ambassador’s residence in Luxembourg City. Having a relatively loose Scottish heritage, my grandfather was born in Ayrshire, I was very proud to be able to don my family tartan for this event.

This year the night was a particularly special occasion for me personally it being the first event that Firth Improvement has sponsored since our formation earlier this year. I was honored to be asked by Association President, Michael Doyle, to sponsor the Whiskies that were enjoyed by over 75 guests. Additionally it was my great pleasure to be asked to say a few words about St Andrew and what he means to Scots. You can find more information about the evening and the Scottish Association at the links provided.

As always Michael and the committee put on an excellent event, which brought together the great and good of the Luxembourg Scottish community. It was also great to see so many acquaintances and conduct some networking fueled by Scottish country dancing and, of course, the Whiskey!
